HTIR Visa Course
Students are required to take the HTIR Visa Course
before HTIR admissions will release the student's I-20. The course is designed to
give the student experience of what to expect in the actual visa interview. The
instructor of the course is a US immigration attorney who has been
consulting students for the last 20 years. He has traveled around the world
and has met with visa officials in the consulate offices, so he is familiar
with what the visa officers generally are looking for. This course is
not easy to pass, just as it is not easy to be granted a visa.
Students will need to read all the material, do all the assignments and take all
of the exams. The final exam is with the attorney and is basically a
mock visa interview. Students will be allowed to take the exam as
many times as needed in order to pass. Once the student passes it means the
attorney is confident that he/she has a good enough knowledge of the material
and is confident that you will do well in the visa interview.
You should do your own visa consultation with
the student after he/she finishes the online visa course. Where the
visa course is "general" information, you will be able to provide the
student with more regional information that is specific to the US embassy in
your area.
